Notes of Nostalgia
Mark returns to the Lighthouse, Poole and the Bristol Beacon to conduct the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in a concert entitled Notes of Nostalgia. The programme begins with Brahms’ 3rd Symphony, is followed by Stephen Hough’s Piano Concerto – the world of yesterday – played by the composer, and finishes with Elgar’s Enigma Variations. In this special performance, each variation is introduced through Elgar’s own words, spoken by the actor Walter van Dyke in the role of the composer.
